Apparently taking over cabinet meetings while Trump browses social media and ignores everything, why aren't the actual cabinet members just standing up and saying "sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up, you aren't even elected or a member of the cabinet," because I certainly would, but then they are spineless traitors afraid of being fired by Trump!
You do wonder how Donald Trump’s cabinet secretaries felt when they showed up for their first meeting together, today, and found Elon Musk lurking in the corner with his black MAGA cap. Let alone how they felt when he started to address them, while the actual President sat silent and disinterested (Mr Trump appeared to be checking his phone under the table throughout much of Mr Musk’s monologue).
Mr Musk is not part of the cabinet, nor is he even, technically, the person running DOGE. As best we can tell, through court filings and a series of vague statements from the White House, he’s an adviser to the President who “oversees” DOGE’s activities.
There's no doubt at all now, Musk is running the show, he's the real President whatever Trump thinks!

He's been likened to Thomas Cromwell, which i think is a bit of a stretch. I reckon Rasputin is a closer historical comparison.
Either way, i won't be sad if it ends in a similar fashion.

Poisoned, shot (twice) then drowned? Sounds good!

One thing Elon is not up to is selling cars! Sales are plummeting in Europe as well, and i can only imagine how the Canadian market is faring but i reckon it would be worse than anywhere.

Tesla is a peaceful company, we’ve never done anything harmful, I’ve never done anything harmful, I’ve always done productive things,” he told Fox News. “So there’s some kind of mental illness thing going on because this doesn’t make any sense.”
You couldn't script this! Yes, Elon there is a 'mental illness thing going on,' and that would be your deluded failure to grasp how much you are despised for the tens of thousands of lives you have ruined over past two months, among other things.
In relation to the article above, I'm all in for anti-tesla activism but the three people being charged, if the charges are real, are for setting shit on fire. I'm definitely not supportive of doing that. That is just dangerous to the public. There are far safer ways to do it.

I can't verify the assertions in this article - after all, it IS rocket science you know. But I find it believable.
Whenever one of Musk's rockets blows up it reminds me of the Soviet N1 rocket, which was intended to beat Apollo to the moon. Two tests in 1969 failed, and the Soviets were effectively out of the race. They persisted in the early 70s with two more failed launches, and gave up in 1974.
I note that the Starship test flight since this article was written managed to get a bit further than the previous failures, before blowing/breaking up. But the suspicion remains that the overall design has a fatal flaw and it is doomed.

The same author has another article about the latest failure. I like his comparisons to Apollo. SpaceX and its ilk to me have always represented the privatisation of space, and with the likes of Musk and Bezos in charge, it injects a toxic 21st century version of extreme capitalism, which erases my enthusiasm for space exploration. It's also not as good. The supposed efficiency of the private sector is largely fallacious.
I predict that the Artemis program will be scrapped before it lands a human back on the moon. I suspect the Chinese will come to their senses and also give up on the folly of putting people back on the moon. The whole thing is like the follow-up single to "My Sharona".

Unfortunately this has long been the seat-of-the-pants zone.
It's amazing they achieved as much as they did with Apollo.
[Anecdote Warning] -
For a while in 1985 I travelled with a Canadian programmer who had worked on the Space Shuttle project. He was based in Houston and he declared that he didn't want to be anywhere near a Shuttle launch because he knew the approach of the project regarding reviews and deadlines; said he had submitted scads of code that was barely reviewed at all.
I took his word for it and within six months the Challenger disaster happened.
(FTR - Now I know that the rubber seal was not part of a computer program, but he reckoned the whole thing was shambolic, and there are so many moving parts and too many details.)
[/Anecdote Warning]
Anyhoo, anything to get Elon off the planet is worth a shot IMO.

It really did take longer than i would have bet on, but it was always going to happen.
It's just a lovely popcorn moment really. Musk is such a wild deranged drug addled fool, he'll crash all his businesses and a completely unhinged cohort of maga fans are now suddenly his enemy, and that group joins pretty much everyone else in the world.
I likened Musk to Rasputin a few months ago, no reason to stop now. The metaphoric guns are being loaded, the cakes are being poisoned and the nobles on their horses are galloping to Elon's lair.

It's always a wheeze when the lion turns on the tamer. If it weren't so dangerous for the by-standers (which is, pretty much all of us) it might be hilarious (though I reckon Putie, MBS and other unspeakable murderous arseholes will be in stitches).
Of course the orange turd is almost certainly up to his bolingbrooks in the Epstein Island obscenity (just like slick Willy et al).
I do hope Leon has some receipts. We know somebody does.
Reminiscent of Godzilla versus Mothra, (except of course both Godzilla and Mothra are sympathetic characters).
