If I was in a government and Musk tried this sort of shit, I'd ban the fuck out of xitter, like Brazil did. But I'd be demanding a lot more than the Brazilian judge did before reinstating it. My conditions would be things like complete transparency about algorithms and promotion of posts, policing of misinformation and harmful posts, owner, staff and other insiders not allowed to boost visibility of their own posts. Otherwise x.com and twitter.com will get the same treatment as thepiratebay.org.

I'd also insist on "opt-in" for any surveillance anti-features, but that would also apply to google/Android, facebook, tiktok, Apple etc.. Otherwise ban the fuck out of them all.

Wow, if Bannon thinks you're evil, you must REALLY be evil. This made me think of the self righteousness of the wicked. Pol Pot and Stalin and Putin and his oligarchs and all the other mass murdering mothetfuckers of history have all claimed to be motivated by high ideals and morals. These men are another two examples in the long history of narcissistic killer clowns. I just hope that they can turn on each other, to reduce their overall effectiveness at fucking up the entire world.

I'm also thinking about my perception that we are in a pretty dire situation at the moment. The early 2000s were pretty bad, with global terror and a lie-fueled Iraq war. Now we have accelerating climate collapse, and team fascist joining forces with dystopian super rich techno mad "geniuses".

Or maybe my perception is faulty because the present is closer, not bigger, and it's just as bad as it ever was.

Well, if it's just your perception mine is similar. There seems to be an erosion in our collective capacity to discern fact from fiction and as a consequence democracy is pretty meaningless. I mean, how can a population that can't tell the difference between scientific research and a youtuber's opinion make an informed decision at the ballot box? Hence Trump.

Anyway, back on topic. I totally accept that Trump and the inner magas don't give a fuck about the rank and file, but i disagree in regard to whether or not they need them. They do need them, Trump especially, if for no other reason than his ego.

They will turn on Musk, the rank and file, because he's not one of them, he's not American and he's not a pious christian.

I know others disagree, i've had this conversation a lot lately, but in a fight between musk and trump, whatever form that takes, my money is on Trump.

It's be wrong to get overly distracted by that though. What he has planned in terms of shaving 5 trillion dollars off the budget, (basically ending every social support program there is, plus sacking most of the public service) will be far more devastating than his infantile trollish mannerisms.

Who is more detestable? Trump or Musk? I'm struggling on this one.
