Somebody who cares might want to get The Prat In The Hat to explain the biblical origins of all the seasonal trappings he's hankering after.

And send him a few traditional Xmas cards...

When I first lived in Canberra Summernats still had a wet T-shirt competition, and one of the unoffiicial slogans of the event was "show us your tits". I heard a story of a couple of local women who got stuck in a traffic jam caused by a parade of hot-rods on Northbourne Avenue. They were in one of those 1970s Renaults very popular in the ACT, and the back windows were wound down because it was a hot day. One of the spectators saw there were two women in a car, and jumped into the back seat and requested that they "show us your tits".

Apparently there were 130,000 tickets sold this year, which is quite disturbing. It makes me think humanity is doomed.

Sexual harassment of women

In 2008 and 2011 mobs of men allegedly sexually harassed female patrons. In 2017 the promoters adopted a zero tolerance policy to harassment. The festival has experienced frequent complaints and allegations of sexual harassment and other violence towards women by participants,[22] including having a history of women being shouted at to 'take your top off', and men holding placards that read "tits out for the boys".[23][24][25]

In 2008, a mob of up to 400 men was observed by journalists surrounding and harassing women, leading Australian Federal Sex Discrimination Commissioner Elizabeth Broderick to comment that such conduct fosters an environment that may lead to rape. Security staff were described as "powerless" to stop the mob, although event organiser Chic Henry stated that he was happy with the performance of security.[26]

In 2011, another mob was alleged to have occurred.[27]

In 2017, Summernats announced its zero-tolerance approach to sexual harassment.[28]

Melting in situ, or melting (after transport involving more heat generation and carbon footprint) in a fucking cocktail glass in Dubai?

Meh, we're fucked anyhow.

Oldest known freestanding sculpture (of white origin) in Australia is a piece of political satire.

(I guess Gov Arthur pissed the sculptor off.)

Look, i quite like Bob Katter. He's a fucking nutter, yes. And he's very odd, but he does actually represent his constituents quite faithfully, and i respect that about him. He also fights hard for his region, even though some of the fights he picks are highly questionable, but still. He is a conservative, but on some issues he's far and away better than the coalition, (marriage equality, unionism and anti-neoliberalism, for example). Dodgy on climate change but might be brought around. Anyway, like Jacquie Lambie, i'd prefer a haywire slightly unpredictable actual person compared to the production line party politicians of laboral (except if they're a racist/fascist). So yeah, give the fucker a portrait, why not.

Bob-Kat is certainly entertaining and definitely not the worst. But I can't but remember him as a minister in Joh's cabinet - which is very hard to rehabilitate in my mind.

But he does have amazing arctic fox hair. I was in a lift with him once, back in the 80s, and it was exactly the same. (And sour lolly he's been sucking all these years is not getting any less sour).

It's tax time, and many people who were expecting big tax returns are being shocked by having to pay the ATO a lot of money instead. Turns out they fucked up and did stupid things, like claiming the tax free threshold for two jobs instead of only one. They are feeling scammed!
Multiple Aussies expecting a welcome cash boost this tax time have been left horrified after finding out they owe the ATO thousands instead.
One person said: “Happened to me last year. I didn’t know about the 2 job thing. It was so painful to pay back. I felt scammed by the gov cause where are u supposed to read this rules.”
Common sense would suggest you can only claim the tax free threshold once. Other excuses seem similarly bad. So, what exactly did they do with the extra money they didn't pay the tax man, live it up a little, not save anything? I mean it's not like they are paying something other people with similar incomes and a proper tax accountant are forking out.
