Ah, Elon The Enshittifier... such an enigma!
Loves nazis, but seems to hate those who stick up for Palestine.

On the platform previously known as Twitter, Elon Musk has apparently given orders to automatically remove those who follow the account of Palestine Action US (@Pal_ActionUS). Many people have reported that after following the account, their accounts automatically unfollow it. We can confirm this from firsthand experience.
Whatever your politics in regard to Palestine, this is an important precedent. It confirms that Elon Musk bought Twitter in order to make it impossible for people to communicate except in ways that align with his personal agenda as a billionaire and racist. Relying on X/Twitter to communicate means enabling him to personally determine whom we can hear and whom is silenced.

"Dwindle" - lovely word, innit?
Since Musk bought the company in October 2022, it’s lost approximately 13% of its daily active users. And its rebrand from Twitter to X accelerated the decline, per data that Big Technology is first publishing here. Meta’s Threads, meanwhile, isn’t taking advantage, with stagnant engagement and little meaningful migration from Twitter.
The new data — comprehensive and definitive — should put to rest the countervailing narratives over Musk’s management of the app. Under his stewardship, X’s daily user base has declined from an estimated 140 million users to 121 million, with a widening gap between people who check the app daily vs. monthly. X’s remaining daily users are engaged similarly as before. But the pool is shrinking. Apptopia pulls its data from more than 100,000 apps on iOS and Android, along with publicly available sources.
Musk’s July rebrand of Twitter to X — discarding a troubled but ubiquitous brand — caused the company serious harm. In both August and September, X lost more than 5% of its daily users month over month. This all but negated any positive momentum Musk generated during the takeover.
“After the sudden rebrand, there was a ~2,000% spike in negative daily app reviews,” said Adam Blacker, Apptopia’s director of content and communications. “The keywords ‘logo’ and ‘blue bird’ appeared as top 10 keywords left in user reviews, each with negative sentiments attached to them.”

Musk seems to hate wikipedia because he wants to force humanity to treat his warped, narcissistic, hateful thoughts as fact. Here he's implying Wikipedia is somehow corrupt just like he is. Unfortunately for him even the tatters of Xitter's fact-checking system, owned by Musk (even if he wants to disown it), were able to refute him easily.

It's incredible to think that anyone would volunteer for this, but i guess he's targeting people that feel they have nothing to lose? But then again, maybe not.
He remains a giant hero to many. He's a hero because he has $80 billion dollars (or whatever). He's the winner. And in the binary neoliberal world of winners and losers, Elon is the top of the tree winner, indisputable. He is the object of respect, envy and adoration. It is also indisputable that he is an absolute genius, he has $80 billion, and because there is an obvious link between wealth and intelligence (only fools don't want to be rich, it's the only game in town), he is a genius and can prove it by pointing to his bank balance. This is the logic of capitalism. By this reasoning, he is indeed a genius.
He'll get tens of thousands of volunteers.

Would you trust Elon Musk with your money? I presume the regulation of financial services in Australia would make his dream impossible, unless he could somehow influence politics and usher in a chaotic form of libertarianism which would allow him to do what he likes. That project is going pretty well for him in the US.

Elon can single-handedly destroy much of the right, i.e. they put all their money on his platform and he takes them all down with his X titanic.

Now trying to monetise vacant usernames...
According to Forbes, the microblogging platform has set up a dedicated team, called the @Handle Team, to manage a handle marketplace where interested buyers can acquire account names that were registered but abandoned by their original owners. The company has reportedly sent emails to some potential buyers, asking for a one-time payment of $50,000 to proceed with the purchase.
Forbes has not disclosed the full contents of the emails to protect the identity of the recipients but confirmed that they were sent by active X employees and mentioned that the company had updated its @handle rules, procedures, and charges.
