Well yes you can, until evidence is presented that one has committed a crime you can just say you are innocent and not have to prove it, because until there is evidence of a crime there is no crime to prove you are innocent of.....I mean what the hell, that's basic jurisprudence? I mean sure Trump would love to be able to imprison his enemies by just accusing them of a crime and then not present any evidence, but that's simply not how it works!

Florida advancing bill to gut child labour laws. For instance at the moment employers can't roster a person still in school on shifts that run overnight if they have school the following day, the bill will remove any restrictions on rostering hours among other things. The bill is of course sponsored by companies like McDonalds and other low paying food industry giants because they can't get adults to do the work at the wages they are offering, so why not make the children do it?

The Republican-backed bill, fed to Rep. Linda Chaney by the right-wing Foundation for Government Accountability — a think tank that wrote the bill — would gut the state's current restrictions on child labor for older teens, which were originally established to prevent work from interfering with a child’s health, safety and education.

Texas Governor Abbot has signed a new law on immigration, SB4! Keep this in mind it will be big news. There's a few words in this statement that need to be highlighted;

Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas on Monday signed one of the harshest state immigration laws in modern U.S. history, authorizing state officials to arrest and seek the deportation of migrants suspected of crossing the border with Mexico illegally.

The law, known as SB4, gives Texas law enforcement authorities the power to stop, arrest and jail migrants on new, state-level illegal entry charges. It also allows state judges to issue de facto deportation orders against suspected violators of the law, though it's unclear how this provision could be enforced.

The statements are important, "suspected" is used multiple times, it means there will be no investigation or research, no trials or court hearings, if you have the wrong coloured skin, are picked up by immigration police and don't have clear identifying documents that say you are legally in the US there's a good chance you will end up in Mexico. Even if you were born in the US and don't carry documents but have the wrong skin colour there's a really good chance you will end up in Mexico. You will be dumped in Mexico with no ID, passport of visa or any way to get in touch with US authorities, you will be what we call shit out of luck. Expect many court challenges to this law, it is likely unconstitutional anyway.

Where will it end? It feels like 'immigrants,' be the designation based on skin color, religion, ethnicity or even culture, are being blamed for everything all throughout the world. The Tories seem to be just as bad as the Republicans on this, and who could doubt Dutton will go there with great enthusiasm. But what happens when there's no immigrants left and yet wages remain stagnant; housing remains unaffordable; food scarcity grows along with poverty; health systems remain inaccessible or cost prohibitive; essential services infrastructure continues to decay and collapse; sewage still pours into brittish rivers; our ecological systems continue to disappear, and governments completely run out of money and will to assist with recovery from natural disaster after natural disaster? Who'll be to blame then?

I know! Non billionaires will be to blame then, with the exception of those who are doing their bit by serving billionaires, like politicians and Murdoch journos. And when there's no one left but billionaires and their servants, i guess there's no one left at all.
