I didn't want to keep this going in Israel thread as looks like it has nothing to do with Israel/Palestine at all (at least in the case of the first fire)..
So the guy they charged (well one of the two) for burning down the burgertory store in Caulfield was also charged with at least one of the Melbourne Tobacco War fires in Bendigo. So what is the connection? and why are they now firebombing Hash's home?
Hash is saying the same thing as last time, implying it is pro Israel people again, though we know he incorrectly claimed the same about the restaurant. Guess we find out in a few months if they catch the guy who did it.

Yeah my first thought was that maybe he was selling chop chop under the counter in his restaurant, but I don't think that fits with them now attacking his home.. Clearly a bigger story here than "hate crimes" though..Irrev-Black wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 2:46 pm Ockham says it's someone else in the marginal baccy trade.

Melbourne's had more baccy shops, takeaways, and milk bars torched. Definitely something other than hatred for a sector of the community (unless "shop-owners" counts).Irrev-Black wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 3:14 pmProtection racket would fit.joele wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 2:48 pmYeah my first thought was that maybe he was selling chop chop under the counter in his restaurant, but I don't think that fits with them now attacking his home.. Ohh there have been so many, in Bendigo and Melbourne. They claimed a few months ago the baccy wars were over, but the arsons haven't stopped.Irrev-Black wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 12:11 pm Melbourne's had more baccy shops, takeaways, and milk bars torched. Poor government probably very confused as to why prohibition would increase gang wars/crime. Not like there is a long history of that happening .. ohh wait ... mmmm ..

My local cheap tobacco guy operates out of a gift shop. I know of a cafe that also sells it openly. Gov seems to want to play whack-a-mole, which makes marketing sense, look very busy all time, achieve absolutely nothing, but look busy doing it.Irrev-Black wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 6:11 pm https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/nation ... 5jh2a.html

Tax free tobacco has never, in my lifetime, been more readily and easily available than it is now. Good job .gov.au

Another two overnight..
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-06-07/ ... /103949224In short: Tobacco stores in Coburg and Footscray have been the target of arson attacks early this morning.
There have been more than 60 fires in stores, restaurants and reception centres linked to the illegal tobacco war between bike and organised crime gangs.
