I received this letter in the post this afternoon:
My records show that I subscribed to the American Humanist Association's Newsletter in 2013. As I haven't received any email from them since 2018, I probably unsubscribed.
I expect that when I subscribed, I had to supply a postal address, and the validation code assumed USA addresses, insisting that the state abbreviation comprised two letters, but not checking the validity of it or the ZIP code. Or, less likely, it accepted two-letter Canadian province abbreviations (NS for Nova Scotia), but didn't validate Canadian postal codes.
The letter was four pages long, describing how they're fighting back against Project 2025 and Christian Nationalists, with a request for donations on the last page.
To get to the point, it seems that for whatever reason, the letter was sent to Canada. But remarkably, rather than it being binned or marked
Return to Sender, someone (probably working for Canada Post) took the effort to figure out that it was meant to go to Australia! The Canada Post postage paid sticker overlays the original
NON-PROFIT ORG US POSTAGE PAID imprint on the envelope.
You gotta love the Canadians, eh?
