I've been wondering about way religious zeal is in the same basket as loving Trump, denying climate change, and all the rest. The conspiracy mindset also disturbs me. I wonder if believing you have seen the light of QAnon or whatever, brings the same ecstasy you get from seeing the light of a Jesus who loves you and makes you pure.

It would be bizarre for them to disagree, although I see it was a majority decision and not unanimous, it would set up states to have defacto private armies unlimited by any federal control, either judicial or executive.

Hmm, not only did DeSantis fail miserably to put up even a shadow of a run for President, but he did it while spending unprecedented amount of money on private jets, in fact he spend more on private jets than they did on TV advertising for his run for presidency. Now I can't really blame them for not spending a lot of TV advertising, let's face it the more DeSantis tried to act like a normal human being the more he failed at that simple act and the more it probably turned voters off, but donated campaign money, well that's supposed to be used for campaigning right, not splurging on private jets.

The DeSantises developed a taste for the imperial trappings of office, and even as the campaign peasants were scrounging for kernels of grain they continued to insist on private jets and white glove treatment. Perhaps the single most shocking statistic of the campaign was that it spent more on private jets than TV advertising. This speaks to an enormous sense of entitlement and an almost pathological detachment from reality.

I bought this book on the weekend with an xmas voucher i had. I'm about halfway through. It's a series of essays starting with the incredible life and activism of Harry Belafonte which was amazing to me, i thought he was just an old time crooner...but wow, what a guy. Anyway, that's beside the point, the rest that i've read is indeed scary.

The point that is making the most impression is just how removed from reality everyone seems to be and what that means practically. An emerging argument Sharlet makes is that the 'Trumplicans,' the crazy eschatological xtians and the overt fascists and white supremacists and the manosphere (or at least the people that identify with these groups) do not have the language of structural analysis, or critical analysis, but they do have the language of christian manichaenism. People look around, see their wages stuck, their jobs disappearing, the poverty, the crumbling infrastructure etc and the only possible explanation is satan and those who support 'him.' And Satan has so many agents, don't you know. The Democrats, the deep state, feminists, LGBTQ+, China, immigrants, journalists etc etc etc. The list's only apparent constraint is imagination. But what all the groups have in common is that they're agents for Satan and Trump is the savior. How do you even counter any of this? You can't.

The US has lost its mind. How and what it morphs into should Biden win in November is beyond anything i could guess at but it absolutely won't go away now. Trump is like Hitler and Khomeini merged into one. If he drops dead, half his devotees will deify him and expect his imminent return, and the other half will simple seek vengeance. Who knows what that will look like but what is shocking to contemplate is that not even mortality will liberate the US from the orange turd, he may even be more potent once he's in the ground.

And no they say nothing of the sort, the polls say he's going to win the Primary, there's no dire polling that says he is going to be trounced by Trump and all analysis of the voting in the Trump primaries indicate the opposite, that Trump has lost the Republican moderates and the Independents in huge numbers.

And a run of dire polling shows he’s on track to be defeated by former President Donald Trump, the likely Republican candidate.

And all based on what? Apparently that she's worried about the upcoming election, every sensible American is worried about the upcoming election, it could lead to civil war if Trump has his way! This is apparently the evidence she is going to gazump Biden and put herself in as Presidential nominee, I'm not even sure that's possible given the way Presidential Primaries work!

The former First Lady sat down with author Jay Shetty for his podcast On Purpose and admitted she’s “terrified” about the upcoming election.

“What’s going to happen in this next election? I’m terrified about what could possibly happen, because our leaders matter.

“Who we select, who speaks for us, who holds that bully pulpit, it affects us in ways sometimes I think people take for granted.

“The fact that people think that government — ‘eh, does it really even do anything?’ — and I’m like: ‘Oh my God, does government do everything for us, and we cannot take this democracy for granted.’ And I worry sometimes that we do. Those are the things that keep me up.”

Spreading this sort of odious and unfounded crap on international news sites so they can refer to "international sources" is the Republican go to solution when they are worried, and worried they are, Trump is not doing well among Republican voters apart from the MAGA base, and they don't have enough votes to put him into the Presidency!

It's my understanding that obama cant just insert herself and also i heard this conspiracy from alex jones who also claims she's transgender and the globalists (code for jewish people if anyones curious) are behind it. These clowns are spreading bottom of the barrel bullshit, half of which starts out as memes made by 14 year old nazis and spread by paranoid man child anti semites.

Not to mention the people spreading bullshit dont stop when pubplicly proven wrong. Case in point, jones had the obama thing explained and disproven live on air then just kept sayimg it on his next show. Thats why i like deplatforming them, people always say "what if it happens to your group" but it already is so im not stressed about that. The only issue i see is they can use it as internal propaghanda but then again they just do that anyway.
