Donald Trump
Re: Donald Trump
Regarding the result I'm nervous. Close will cause chaos if Harris wins. Really need a landslide to calm everyone down and that doesn't look likely. How stressful would it be to be living there today? Feel sorry for Americans today, unless you're a cis gendered straight white male, i guess. So about 20% (?) of the population are feeling fine, thinking of the rest.

I've been feeling very nervous about this, I've heard the term "nauseously optimistic" and that's about right. I'm going to stay away from the meaningless buildup and anticipation and tune in when the results are a bit closer, maybe lunchtime. I have a playlist of disco and reggae to help me stay calm.
I can feel it

Apart from the physical mauling bullshit, it sounds like a case of the Night Hag, that I've had twice in a hypnopompic state (between dreaming and waking).stylofone wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 10:25 pm In case you missed it, Tucker Carlson. It was fucking terrifying at the time; the sense of some unseen evil presence in the room, pressure on your chest, unable to move, and unable to make a sound when calling out for help!
But as soon as I was awake, I realised what it was, because I was aware of the phenomenon.

Re: Donald Trump
More early votes cast this year than Trump actually received in the last election, so we'll see how that goes, but let's remind everyone of the phantom red wave that happens at every US election, the R's always seem to have an advantage with early election results because in person voting is counted first, and that's exactly how it's going at the moment, so if the R's look to be leading in the first hours that's not an indication of the way the results will end.
The fact that he is getting any votes at all is a testament to how bad us politics has become, can you imagine any previous presidential candidate since the US was formed simulating a blow job on a microphone and still being the presidential candidate? Nope, nor can I, not a single one!

Hmm that's interesting, Kamala leading in Kansas Missouri and Idaho, oh and Pennsylvania. These are not small leads either, int eh area of 5-10 percentage points and up. Early days and all these states could swing either way though, will keep an eye on them. Kamala leads in Pennsylvania by 16 percent, a key state by all accounts.

Just post this here so people have a better understanding of what I mean by the phantom red wave;

No blue wave discernible on the guardian tracker. I know it's early but it looks fucking ordinary to me.

Actually, it's becoming grim.
