These fake polls putting Trump miles in front will end in violence. It's just so fucking irresponsible. There will certainly be outbreaks of violence if he loses, to what extent and how far Trump goes with an attempt at a coup remains to be seen but really, it's the presidency or possibly go to jail for Trump, it's all or nothing - that is, he's got nothing to lose so if i were him i'd openly call for armed rebellion. I think he will. It's odd to be hoping it goes like this, but these are odd times. It would be better this way than see him win, is all i'm trying to say.
Of course he might say, should he lose, 'good job everyone, we didn't win this time but lets work on our policies and work with the Dems and do better in 2028'? LOL

It's funny right, all the polls said Hillary Clinton would win, so did Trump rig that election in 2016?pipbarber wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 5:57 pm https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... on-results

Re: Donald Trump
I remember watching Jan 6 happen live and thinking "wow, America has REALLY lost its collective mind now". The fact that Trump is again on the cusp of victory makes it even worse, and it's still got more cliffs t fall over. Tomorrow will be a scary day. If he wins it will be frightening, but if he loses it won't be over. One hope is that this time he won't be able to use the office of the President to vandalise the election. We have to hope that Biden and his administration is able to to the opposite. The state authorities in Republican-dominated regions will be bad too.

You know that saying about it being easier to imagine the end of the world than it is to imagine the end of capitalism? I'm finding it easier to imagine total chaotic violence than to imagine a peaceful continuation of political life, regardless of who wins.
Probably a tad melodramatic but the US might about to implode.

In case you missed it, Tucker Carlson. A few days ago he said a demon attacked him and left him bloody. Now demons made nukes and abortions cause hurricanes.

Well this is it, we'll probably know by tomorrow morning which was this is going to go. I am still confident in a Harris victory, what I am not sure about is how the MAGA will take it. We cab only wait and see, but I doubt a civil war, 9o% of MAGA isn't fit to fight at the best of times, I can't see the southern states rising up in war!

Yes, I think she'll win, but America is fucked so anything could happen.stevebrooks wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 2:16 am Well this is it, we'll probably know by tomorrow morning which was this is going to go. I'm reading about huge turnout, and that would be consistent with the trend that won it for Biden in 2020. Also, Trump's last few rallies were to half-empty stadiums, that could be an indicator his bullshit isn't working any more.
IIRC the campaign started with Trump assembling a team who advised him to tone it down, because his rusted-on base isn't enough to win and he needs to attract a few of the slightly less insane voters. But he's actually got worse with his bizarre name-calling, lying and totally absurd hyperbole. He can't help himself, the crazy demented fucker that he is.

Looking for positives before the count starts. I'm glad that both candidates made it through to today alive, that's a tick. I'm so relieved that the Dems even have a chance because if Biden were running Trump would almost certainly have won, so there's that. I think it's good that Musk has completely unmasked himself for what he is, an opportunistic fascist leaning bigot that gives zero fucks about the well being of others. Same goes for that wrestling commentator with an inexplicably popular radio talk show, oh and Tucker Carlson has shown himself to be mentally ill. This election campaign has been good for unmasking.
