It seems bizarre that Trump still seems to be polling close to Harris, either there's something wrong with the polls or most American's are stupid. The only really good news I have seen this week is that mail in ballots are polling massively high for Democrats, with margins something like 60% Harris and 20% Trump, of course if most Republican's decide to wait until polling day to vote that doesn't mean a lot.

On the converse Trump and his lunatics have already said they will have an army of watchers out to prevent cheating and fraud, this may in fact work to the detriment of Republican's in if turns out to be chaos on voting day, if it goes bad and they can't get to vote, well that's going to affect both sides but Republican's more because they don't do early voting the same level as Democrats.

I would have thought mail in votes would not generally be counted before election day, much less shouted to the universe.

Who thought that was a good idea?

I think you might be reporting the party registration of mail in voters, which doesn't necessarily reflect their actual vote. Many usians register strategically so they can vote in primaries.

Also 60% of them are over 65. Which has to skew things.

Well yes, votes counted by party registration of course, here's a detailed breakdown;

The other interesting thing is the map which shows what states allow early in person and mail in voting;

The Dems, from what i can make out, are just going for a more of the same platform. Of course it's sensible, what else can they do and more of the same is obviously a million times better than the deranged orange. However, I find myself wondering whether the 'more of the same' vote is losing electoral currency. It's all kind of pointless, really. You'd just be voting to make sure Trump loses, and whilst there were enough people willing to do that in 2020, i'm not sure about this time around.

My lingering concern is election day tactics of the maga mob. I know it may also impact Republican voters but places where republican majority voters are going to voye on the day won't be the sites of disruption, that'll be where people are likely to be voting Dems. Presumably, this is being planned for by electoral authorities....but i wouldn't bet on it being planned for enough...and who'll be enforcing this stuff? Local cops? Oh great......

I'm feeling pessimistic today. Who knows why, maybe it's a lost 1 hour of sleep. Probably be fine tomorrow and thinking Harris has it covered.

Trump in continued secret talks with Vladimir Putin since leaving office, so we know exactly what his plan is for Ukraine if he wins, surrender! Here I was thinking private people in the US negotiating with foreign states was a felony and basically traitorous! This is how he will get he war over if he gets elected, it's already planned, probably send in US troops to arrest Zelensky!
