Oh look, Dutton has had a change of heart, he's suddenly reversed a policy he has pushed relentlessly since the Covid lock down ended;
Peter Dutton has sensationally dumped his controversial plan to force public servants back into the office, conceding he has “listened” to the backlash from workers who want flexibility.
In a stunning backflip, the Liberal Party is dumping and running from the plan to force public servants back into the office five days a week just a month after announcing it.
You see, I trust him as much as I trust Trump, it's easy to reverse a position you are really set on because you think you were going to lose votes over it, then reverse that decision once you are in power and can't be removed, the Labor party should hammer him on this, I mean he's a man of a certain position, and that is that he holds no position except the one that will get him elected! Still, weeks to go now, probably to late to see big changes in electoral chances now unless something really big happens. Hmm, stand by for Mondays financial markets to open!

He's also backed out of sacking 40,000 public servants, and he's having second thoughts on building a wall between Australia and Mexico, apparently.
They gambled on being aussie maga, it was always going to be a stupid gamble really. They think the whole country inhabits their sky/fox news echo chamber and that everyone loves Trump. I'd back them to lose the election if it was due this weekend, still a long way to go though. On the other hand, it's another 3 weeks of Trump as well and like it or not Dutton has pinned himself to the orange fart now, so there's that.

This guy is flipping so fast you could hook him up to a generator and use him to power an entire suburb!
Despite ruling out tax cuts a fortnight ago, the Liberal leader has backflipped as the Prime Minister continues his comeback in the polls.

Some more election signage which I liked. This is at Mogo. I am less impressed with the big yard signs for the Liberal snakes, on farms between Batemans Bay and Moruya.

Oh Dutton, you've done it again!
Ms Wong has accused Peter Dutton of trying to “verbal” the President of Indonesia after he falsely claimed our neighbour had confirmed reports Russia wanted to base aircraft in the region near Darwin.
Indonesia has subsequently rubbished any suggestion it would allow that to happen - but it hasn’t denied the approach was made by Russia.
The Liberal leader is under fire this morning over a gaffe during a nationally televised television interview where Mr Dutton got his facts wrong on the murky story.
He's done a Trump, invented a story with no basis in fact and presented as true, on national TV no less!
“The reference I made is to a credible military website and that talked about government sources and the Prabowo government source.”
A credible military website? What website? Was it 4chan? War Thunder? C'mon, own up, you've been had big time, this is a huge blunder accusing a foreign government of something sourced from an unidentified website and government "sources," this is so Trump it isn't funny!

It seems Sideshow Clive's vetting process is precisely as vigorous and accurate as we've come to expect.
"Dr." David Sarikaya, the Trumpet of Patriots candidate for the seat of Reid in Sydney's inner west is... not so much a Doctor.
Clive Palmer's Trumpet of Patriots party has endorsed a candidate prohibited from providing health services, following an investigation that found he "posed a risk to the health and safety of the public".
The political party on its official candidates page also falsely claims that candidate David Sarikaya holds a PhD in psychology — which, in 2009, police found was purchased online.
The HCCC in 2016 said evidence showed the candidate's PhD was in theology and not related to his practice in counselling or psychology.
It said the doctorate was obtained from an American, online, non-accredited institution called "The American College of Metaphysical Theology (ACMT)" — which at the time had a decommissioned website.
Further, when NSW Police raided his home as part of an investigation into Mr Sarikaya's conduct in 2009, they located a document that showed the PhD was purchased on the internet for "approximately $249".
Reminds me of the execrable
Dr Kent Hovind who bought his degrees online too. Kent bought his first "Doctorate" from (coincidentally named )
Patriot Bible University for $2,000 (USD).
I must say "Dr" Sarikaya's doctorate was obviously a bargain at only $249 AU.
"The American College of Metaphysical Theology" - now there's an august sounding mob.
Clive Palmer's Trumpet of Patriots candidate David Sarikaya was banned from delivering health services

He could have saved $200 bucks with a visit to officeworks, you'd have thought. I mean $249 to print a fake and meaningless document, what a rip off! Minister of finance material, clearly.

I feel like drinking a whole bottle of spirits, but all that is on offer is one of those tiny little ones you get in the mini bar in your hotel. Dutton losing the election will be like one of those: a sweet dram, but once the brief pleasure of drinking it has passed, there won't be much of a warm glow or a tipsy celebration afterwards. But I am still thirsting for that moment to come.
It's always the way for me, I vote against the worst party. A calendar check has revealed a clash on election day. My son and I will probably go in for early voting next week.

Yep, that's all you can do, all I do every election, look for the worst party and mark them last.
