My fact checking reveals it didn't happen, C, it appears, was a different person, a Saul Goodman type attorney, not the attorney-general. But it is all too believable.
Republicans are frequently known to lose their shit spectacularly, so I didn't give it a second thought.

Thanks for the research.

Mingle, mingle, mingle, meine Freunden!
Members of Texas’s Republican party are free to associate with Nazi sympathizers without worries of violating internal policy after they held a vote on Saturday.

In a 32-29 vote, the party’s executive committee decided against excluding from their organization those “known to espouse or tolerate antisemitism, pro-Nazi sympathies or Holocaust denial”. A proposal to ban such individuals was included in a resolution supporting Israel as it wars with Hamas in Gaza.

Although the resolution passed, the clause banning members from associating with Nazi sympathizers did not make it in.

Some members of the executive committee argued that the clause was too vague.

Oh no, it appears the entire leadership of the Nevada Republican party have been indicted!
The indicted Republicans include Nevada GOP Chair Michael McDonald, state GOP vice chair Jim Hindle III, Clark County Republican Party chair Jesse Law, GOP national committeeman Jim DeGraffenreid, Shawn Meehan and Eileen Rice.
The Chair, the Vice Chair, the Clarke County Party Chair and three committeemen, ooh that's gonna sting!

Here we go, they say of course there are exceptions for emergencies, and along comes an emergency. The Texas court grants the abortion to the women because the fetus has a fatal abnormality;
A Texas judge has granted permission for an abortion to a woman whose foetus has a fatal abnormality, despite the state's ban on the procedure.

The ruling - which Texas may challenge - is thought to be one of the first attempts to seek a court-granted abortion.
While not necessarily fatal to the mother in all cases there are serious issues in this case that made having an abortion vital'
Doctors have told her continuing with the pregnancy poses a risk to her health and, potentially, her ability to carry another child, says Ms Cox. She has already had to visit the emergency room four times because of pain and discharge, her lawyers said.

"Kate Cox needs an abortion, and she needs it now," her petition reads.
So the doctors agree, the courts agree, even the hospitals agree;
On Thursday, Travis County District Judge Maya Guerra Gamble granted that request, handing down a temporary restraining order allowing Ms Cox to terminate her pregnancy, and protecting her doctor from civil and criminal penalties if she performs the procedure.
But what about the state Attorney General? Nope, fuck her, fuck the doctors, fuck the hospitals, that's all a big fat nope!
After the court order was issued, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sent a letter to three hospitals where Ms Cox's doctor has admitting privileges. In it, he threatened to prosecute anyone who is involved in providing an emergency abortion to Ms Cox, saying that he believes she failed to prove she qualifies for one.

Mr Paxton said that Judge Gamble's order "will not insulate hospitals, doctors, or anyone else, from civil and criminal liability for violating Texas' abortion laws".

At the hearing, Jonathan Stone, with the Texas attorney general's office, argued that Ms Cox "does not meet all of the elements" to qualify for a medical exception.
So this is entirely bullshit and will opposed by the political appointee Paxton who has no medical training no matter what the reason for abortion;
A lawyer for the attorney general, Beth Klusmann, said existing standards allowed doctors to use "reasonable" medical judgment.
So they have used "reasonable" medical judgement, but a non doctor and political abortion opponent gets to decide whats reasonable!

And now she's fucked because the Supreme Court has stayed the lower court order and the government, being the government, will just keep it bouncing around the court until it's to late and she's either forced to give birth or she's dead, whichever happens first. it's really funny how the State Government can get a next day ruling from the Supreme Court but ordinary people have to go through lower courts and the correct steps before Supreme Courts will even consider there arguments. It's time for this woman to get out of Texas and get some proper medical care!

No surprise the nine Republican Texas Supreme Court ruled against her request and overruled the lower court, there is effectively no exception allowed in Texas on abortion despite it existing in the rules, this is how Republican states will try and sway other states by saying they will allow exceptions but they will make them impossible to get.

Here is the details.
Dec 11 (Reuters) - The Texas Supreme Court on Monday overturned a lower court's ruling that would have allowed a pregnant woman to get an emergency abortion under the medical exception for the state's near-total abortion ban, granting a petition by Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton.

The unanimous ruling from the Texas Supreme Court came hours after lawyers for the woman, Kate Cox, said in a court filing that she had left the state to obtain the abortion, but nonetheless wanted to pursue the case. Cox has said her fetus had a fatal diagnosis and that her health was at risk if she continued the pregnancy to term, including her ability to have more children in the future.

The high court, whose nine justices are all Republicans, said in its unsigned opinion that a "good faith belief" by Damla Karsan, a doctor who sought to perform the abortion and sued alongside Cox, that the procedure was medically necessary was not enough to qualify for the state's exception.

Instead, the court said, Karsan would need to determine in her "reasonable medical judgment" that Cox had a "life-threatening condition" and that an abortion was necessary to prevent her death or impairment of a major bodily function.
So according to them, the nine conservative Republican men on the Supreme Court, the doctor had a "good faith belief?" WTF is that, the doctor made a medical diagnosis that the pregnancy was a danger to the woman and that the fetus was unviable, but even so, unless she was 100% going to die fuck her?

The good news of course is that the woman has left the state to obtain an abortion, the bad news is if she returns anyone that aided her to leave the state could face felony charges, and may still face felony charges. This is possibly the worst outcome for the state that was possible, the Republican party in Texas via the Attorney General and Supreme Court has effectively declared open hunting season on pregnant women and children. There is no way and exception will pass the Attorney General and the Texas Supreme Court.
