No footage, alas, but I was just escorting Dog out for her Evening Empty, and a huuuuuuge grey shape lifted off from the far end of the shed.

It can only have been a Powerful Owl.

Yay, "Frogs of Australia" website, for solving the mystery!

We currently have a rather loud Striped Marsh Frog going "TOCK!" at regular intervals from near the back fence.

It's that time of year when some black swans breed in the constructed wetlands in my southern suburb of Wollongong, Shell Cove. It's not my photo, but the cygnets are adorable:
