More, from an eyewitness:
I’ve been around hundreds of prototype cars in my career, ranging from early test mules to near-production prototypes, and I’ve never seen an automaker proudly present something of this poor quality, especially not this late in development. It is absolutely baffling to me that Tesla’s lead designer would parade around a vehicle in this condition just weeks before deliveries of production cars are allegedly commencing and even more baffling that he’d park it at such a public enthusiast event.

This doesn’t look like an early prototype, either. Its details and finishes match what we’ve seen from other “Release Candidate” Cybertrucks that Tesla has been showing off over the past few months, and not a single thing about it doesn’t look production-intent. Tesla’s Texas Gigafactory commenced pilot production of the Cybertruck earlier this year, and components like the lights, window glass, cameras, fender liners, and underbody trims of this prototype all look final.

Oooh, now he's in trouble.

Birmingham's noticed him.
The distressing number of extremely online Musketeers who never stop calling him Elon as if to suggest their intimate personal connection to his mononymous cultural significance—Banksy! Beyonce! Elvis! Elon!—suggests he should have no trouble rounding up millions of minions, Igor-beavers if you will, to volunteer for an even more intimate personal connection to Neuralink’s rusty, monkey-murdering brain implants.

Enshittifier Rocket Co does things at breakneck speed.

And body parts are getting broken - sometimes fatally.
Since LeBlanc’s death in June 2014, which hasn’t been previously reported, Musk’s rocket company has disregarded worker-safety regulations and standard practices at its inherently dangerous rocket and satellite facilities nationwide, with workers paying a heavy price, a Reuters investigation found. Through interviews and government records, the news organization documented at least 600 injuries of SpaceX workers since 2014.

Many were serious or disabling. The records included reports of more than 100 workers suffering cuts or lacerations, 29 with broken bones or dislocations, 17 whose hands or fingers were “crushed,” and nine with head injuries, including one skull fracture, four concussions and one traumatic brain injury. The cases also included five burns, five electrocutions, eight accidents that led to amputations, 12 injuries involving multiple unspecified body parts, and seven workers with eye injuries. Others were relatively minor, including more than 170 reports of strains or sprains.

Current and former employees said such injuries reflect a chaotic workplace where often under-trained and overtired staff routinely skipped basic safety procedures as they raced to meet Musk’s aggressive deadlines for space missions. SpaceX, founded by Musk more than two decades ago, takes the stance that workers are responsible for protecting themselves, according to more than a dozen current and former employees, including a former senior executive.

Musk himself at times appeared cavalier about safety on visits to SpaceX sites: Four employees said he sometimes played with a novelty flamethrower and discouraged workers from wearing safety yellow because he dislikes bright colors.

The lax safety culture, more than a dozen current and former employees said, stems in part from Musk’s disdain for perceived bureaucracy and a belief inside SpaceX that it’s leading an urgent quest to create a refuge in space from a dying Earth.

You could park it in a garage for 12 months after you realize it's the ugliest most unreliable car that has ever been constructed, and then sell it. But on the other hand, i'm not sure my care factor for people who willing pay for a tesla is particular high so....

In truth, i'm quietly amused by the way musk abuses his fanbase. It's all very popcorny.

Not exclusively relevant, but many elements of this ring true...
