Re: Bad Language
This wetland? Or their many varieties? And please, can we have a comma, any comma, Oxford or otherwise?
Having said that, I am grateful to Eurobodalla Shire Council for the lovely wetland/wetlands, and also the excellent sign which is no worse than I would expect.

Re: Bad Language
It was a toss-up as to whether to post this here, or in the People Shit Me! thread!

It was in response to an inquiry in a Facebook group for the local community asking:
And "Baimed" isn't the past participle of some obscure verb; BaiMed is a Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic in the 'Gong.

Apparently, the responder doesn't have full-stop on their keyboard? They do appear to have a Shift key, but it doesn't seem to work when starting a new sentence?Hi, looking for a good injury physiotherapist in the Shellharbour area please?

Firstly, to turn it into a noun it should have a hyphen. But even then, I'm unsure about the meaning. Surely someone farting pales into insignificance compared to the real issue.

Actual headline once you open the article;
How easy it would have been to use the correct language, sigh! In fact every word is there, no need to add any, just re-arrange and you get "girl fleeing from cops leaps from window"Woman injured after allegedly leaping from window while fleeing police in Sydney’s inner west

Re: Bad Language
I think Patricia Karvelas meant to say Australians are uninterested in politics. The Electoral Commission would strive to be disinterested and that would be a good thing. This one of those distinctions which is at risk of dissolving, as the mistake becomes so commonplace that the meaning of the word changes, but it pleases me to hold the line in this case. In fact it pleases me so much that I stopped reading after this paragraph and now I've become uninterested in the rest of the article compared to the distraction of a language quibble.
