Yes it's that insane woman from the Fox news panel, the one that seems to know nothing about the legal system in the US actually works.
Sounds like she'll fit right in.

I think Trump pardoned her tax evading husband at the end of his first term?

Um, these guys are all idiots right? I mean who goes into serious negotiations after having publicly announced what you want to get out of the negotiations, it's Russia all over again:
US President Donald Trump said Friday that 80 per cent tariffs on Chinese goods “seems right” – as top Washington and China officials brace for high-level weekend talks to de-escalate the trade war between the world’s two largest economies.
So China will come in, if they do, knowing the US has no serious intentions negotiating a trade deal, way to go Trumpland!

Trump administration ‘actively looking at’ suspending habeas corpus, Stephen Miller says

In response to a question from a blogger for the far-right Gateway Pundit about when the Trump administration could start “suspending the writ of habeas corpus to take care of the illegal immigration problem”, White House deputy chief of staff for policy Stephen Miller said the Trump administration is “actively looking at” doing so.
Guardian live feed.

This would be to take away a persons right to challenge the legality of their incarceration. Can't see how that could possibly be abused.

Getting pretty dark in the US.

Oh look, everybody agrees the UK/US trade deal was a shit deal for the UK and they should have rejected it, they might still do, I mean Trump has no power to agree to a trade deal, that's congress, and the UK could still not agree since this isn't a trade deal, really and agreement to negotiate, enough protests in the UK may derail this yet.

This is so bad that no country should move forward as long as Trump insists on keeping the 10% baseline, that's madness, that's something no country should agree to.

So apparently after all that the only thing that we know about the talks in Switzerland is that the US has agreed to reduce its tariffs on Chinese incoming goods to 30% and China has reduced its tariffs on US goods to 10%, essentially the US has caved and achieved nothing, and keep in mind even if full trade resumed immediately it would still take 30-45 days for goods to start arriving in the US.

Now the problem is this is a "pause" in the tariffs to allow more talk, so no-one actually knows what the costs of the goods they order now would actually be when then arrive in the US, and no word from Trump who was adamant the other day that 80% sounded right on China, so Bessant has agreed to drop them to 30%, which in the scheme of things is still actually quite high. I mean Trump could turn around in a week, after all US companies have put in orders, and suddenly decide tariffs are back at 80%, so nothing has changed and companies like Amazon who has decided to move its headquarters outside the US will probably continue down that route due to this uncertainty in the future.
The US and China have agreed a deal that will significantly cut the import tariffs they have imposed on each other, in a major de-escalation of their trade war.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said both countries would lower their reciprocal tariffs by 115% for 90 days.

The announcement came after the two countries held talks in Switzerland, the first between the two countries since US President Donald Trump had levied steep tariffs on Chinese imports last month.
Keep in mind, this isn't a victory for the US as it will be portrayed as, it's basically the US giving in and realising the tariffs were stupid, waiting for comments from stupid in chief on this one!

Libertarian grifter got caught up in the excitement of MAGA and now has buyer's remorse. The China "deal" to take tariffs down to 30% still sets America up for inflation and other economic pain. Trump is doomed... although his political existence defies sanity and decency, so who knows what will happen?

So much for tariffs making America rich. Remember that narrative? In fact tariffs are going to make America so rich they'll be able to abolish income tax. Tariffs will usher in the golden age of the American economy. All those Fox news cheerleaders talking about how fantastic, how revolutionary and liberating tariffs are going to be!

Ahem...Trump has now saved the American economy from the scourge of tariffs. Just what you'd expect from the deal maker of the century.

Anyway, nothing to see here...and absolutely nothing to see here when tariffs suddenly jump up to 100% and a whole heap of short bets coming from Washington and a very big one from Florida make billions of dollars from the sudden market collapse, before tariffs drop back to 30%, along with a whole heap of long bets on a market rise. Nah...that won't happen.

'Steal a little and they'll throw in jail, steal a lot and they'll make you a king.' Bob Dylan probably stole that line himself, but never has it been more apt. In fact that line is a couplet. The full lyric is...'Patriotism is the last refuge to which a scoundrel clings. Steal a little and they'll throw in jail, steal a lot and they'll make you a king.' He definitely stole the first line from Samual Johnson, which is also apt, in its way. Like a circle of American theft, except Bob's example is artistic inspiration and Trump's is just straight up kleptocracy.

According to the "seven stages" observation, we are now at stage 4, so there's going to be one more Trump tantrum before it's stitched up.
1 “Ask for the moon” and open with “maximalist goals that are bordering on fantasy”.
2 Follow up with “madman” behaviour and overwhelming threats.
3 “Punch someone in the mouth” to back up your maximalist threats.
4 Break bread, make friends, start negotiations.
5 Leave the bride at the altar, causing negotiators to scramble to accommodate you.
6 Kiss and make up.
7 Make a deal, and proclaim it to be the greatest deal ever.

I guess I just don't understand mainstream media anymore, do they only hire idiots these days?
Global stock markets have surged over a major breakthrough on tariffs today,
Breakthrough? WTF, Trump puts on huge tariffs, after economic disaster Trump removes most of the tariffs, WHAT. FUCKING. BREAKTHROUGH?

It was just a total US surrender to the inevitable economic disaster they caused!

Dems flip mayoral seat in Omaha city Nebraska, a formerly solid red seat!
The city hasn’t had a Democratic mayor since 2013, when then-incumbent Jim Suttle lost his reelection bid for a second term to Stothert, Omaha’s first female mayor, who has enjoyed comfortable electoral victories since then. Her closest race was in 2017, when she won by just less than 6 points.
