I don't think Dutton will win. I thought Trump a 50% chance last year, i'm putting Dutton at 20%. That's based on extensive analysis of my senses, intuition, feelings - such as hope and fear, and reading the Guardian and watching video clips - so totally science there.

If i'm right i just really hope Albo has a bit of a look at Mark Carney's victory speech after the Canadian election. I want him to stand up and say no, we're not playing this bullshit fantasy politics of cruelty and economic collapse that maga are playing. If the US wants to put a 10% tariff on Australian trade, fine, go ahead. We'll find other customers if need be. Oh...and we won't be making any further payments in regard to AUKUS until the US is in a more stable position (or come right out and say: until maga is gone).

Come on Albo! Openly reject maga before Saturday, it will only win you votes. Be brave, be bold, say what is right!

First they came for the 'illegal' immigrants...and i did not speak out because i was not an illegal immigrant.

They're finally coming out and saying it, let's hope it's not to late. The example Trump and MAGA has set for the US must give most intelligent people food for thought!
Dutton accused of 'selling out Australia'

Treasurer Jim Chalmers has accused Peter Dutton of “selling out Australia” with American-style policies as he attacked his decision to introduce a new vape tax and flog e-cigarettes in supermarkets.

The Treasurer has rounded on the Liberal leader for stealing from the Trump playbook on nuclear power and work from home policies.

“Peter Dutton wants to cut Medicare to pay for nuclear reactors and taxpayer-funded long lunches,” the Treasurer told news.com.au.

“As Health Minister, Peter Dutton opposed free Medicare, cut $50 billion from hospitals and tried to end bulk billing.

“He wants Australia to be like America where it’s about your credit card, not your Medicare card.”

A lot of people predicting a Liberal win suddenly, but strangely Dutton is in danger of losing his seat to Labor, I mean polls and talk, who knows what's going to happen, but it will be a disaster if Dutton wins, he has already publicly stated his intentions to destroy renewables, it's bizarre it should even be this close!

I went in hard for Australian democracy today. I rode my bike to the beach, then on the way home dropped in at the local high school to vote. I had a democracy sausage and chocolate slice, in aid of the art class excursion to France. The slice was great, the sausage was terrible.

The place was crawling with Liberal volunteers. I thought one of them mispronounced his candidate's name as I approached... "will you be voting for Andrew Coniston", it sounded like. His name is Constance.

I chatted to a Labor hummingbird on the way out and she said because the seat is so marginal, all the Brethren religious nutters have been bussed in to make it happen for Jesus. This is another example of the Trump effect, it's still a threat and getting worse IMO, they want an American-style Christian right here, to push for theocracy in Australia.

There were only socialist, greens and labor at my polling booth. No liberal or one nation people at all.

Lovely day in melbourne. Chatted with neighbours, everyone making jokes about how awful dutton is. Good vibes all round. Been a great day.

But now i'm nervous.

I amused myself as I ran the gauntlet of how-to-vote pamphlet pushers by saying things like "No Way!" to One Nation, "You're joking!" to the dumped-Liberal-turned-independent, etc..

As I passed the Liberal pushers, I said, "You're dreaming!". That resulted in the singular Labor pusher nearby saying, "Good one!"

Of course, I had my own how-to-vote list on my phone, primarily for the Senate ballot.

When I went to the only free booth to fill in my ballot papers, the bloke to my right had the pencil attached to my booth in his hand. I waited for a while, thinking he'd be done soon, but he was faffing around with the ballot papers and not using the pencil. So, I eventually told him he had my pencil, for which he said sorry, and quickly found the one attached to his booth! People shit me!

I heard there was an LNP handing out how to vote cards in Duttons seat who was warned by the AEC. His crime? Calling Ali France, the ALP candidate who is an amputee the 'pegleg' candidate. He was also being super racist and sexist, wandering around abusing people.

So, I'm on a break. Yay!

I was at Springwood High this morning at 7am. Met our booth captain and waited. A couple of other ALP people turned up. Around 6 of us. Driving in to the school there was only ALP signs. Around 8.30 an LNP car turned up, set up a couple of signs and left. Then around 9am around 3 LNP people turned up after we had the place to ourselves for an hour. The LNP people were islanders, probably from a church somewhere. I spent 5 hours there.
Had a break for an hour then went off to Chatswood Hills SS. Again 4 or 5 of us and two islanders representing the LNP. Whilst there a 'woman' with a pink Trump hat walked up. I went to hand her a card and she said, 'No thanks, I don't vote for pedophiles'. Fuck those people are dumb.

2 hours to go at Springwood Rd SS and pack up. It's a long day. Be kind to all volunteers. Except the Palmer and ON people. Fuck them.....

Dutton going on about his "silent Australians" again.

There are 4 million homes and businesses in Australia with solar panels, if any if them vote for Dutton they would be mad, it's only due to labor incentives that they have them, if anything those silent australians should be favouring Labor and not the pro-nuclear climate change deniers.

I don't really understand why Labor aren't pressing that side more, Australians are generally far more technologically savvy than most people think.

Feeling ok on early results. Greens in terrible strife in Brisbane though, which was predicted, but disappointing to lose some of the few seats they have. Maybe they can pick one up in Vic.
