One of Musk's boy geniuses has had to resign because he's a racist piece of shit. What a shock! That he resigned, I mean.
“Just for the record, I was racist before it was cool,” the account posted in July, according to the Journal’s review of archived posts.
“You could not pay me to marry outside of my ethnicity,” the account wrote on X in September. “Normalize Indian hate,”
Unpaywalled link the WSJ article.

Another one (the kid with the online handle "bigballs") has been outed as having links to black hat hacking operations, DDOS, cyber sabotage, Russian-registered websites.

Some people were suggesting online that their youth and inexperience would lead to them being prime targets of Russian blackmail and recruitment strategies, strange that it hasn't occurred to them that they may already be Russian agents planted with Musk just for this opportunity!

You know, i found this article a bit disappointing. I think i was hoping for something revelatory when i saw the headline, but the only thing that was illuminating was that Musk's grandfather was a fascist too. Otherwise, nah, he's just a bit of a dickhead, but with lots of money.

What's pushed him back into his fascist background, the article seems to suggest, is his child coming out as trans and...communist. Imagine it, an 18 year old says they're a communist! Stop the press. Anyway, it was all too much for poor elon and now he seems to be in an elongated tantrum which incorporates burning everything to the ground.

If, in some better imagined world, we had a political leader stand up and make a case as to why billionaires shouldn't be allowed to happen and that unlimited personal wealth should be capped, Elon Musk would be exhibit 1.

I read a quote that the sci-fi non-moral concept of "effective altruism" is close to his beliefs. Doesn't he also have a belief in the sort of messianic technology of transhumanism? Then there's the apocalyptic belief in the technological singularity. A lot of these are tech-bro fads. I was bemused to read about the falling out between Musk and google person Larry Page, which came down to having to extend the equivalent of human rights to artifical intelligence. It's like theologians and angels on the head of a pin.

Receiving $400m in state department funding for a job which his corporation has no experience or expertise in, and you can bet they probably didn't get 3 quotes from competing companies either. So what is it? Nope, nothing to do with rockets, nor social media, nor electric cars, here it is:
The new contract in question here involves a State Department order for “armoured” vehicles from Tesla, and will be worth up to $US400 million. It’s expected to span up to five years.
Technically yes electric cars, but armoured? Does building a stainless steel death trap really count as experience and expertise. Another thing, Trump: electric cars bad, ICE cars good, except when it comes to his friend and ruler Musk...it's bizarre right, he's rolling back EV subsidies and initiatives because he doesn't believe in EV's or climate change, but he makes the state department, and don't hold any doubt that he told them to do it as a direct order, to spend $400m on armoured electric cars from a company that as far as I know has never built an armoured car!

Just look at this guy! He's like something out of the Simpsons. If you wrote a movie about a deranged billionaire out to destroy the world no wardrobe department could exceed the reality.

He clearly thinks he's just totally cool. I wouldn't be surprised if he thought that whole wide world just loves him to bits.

The coolest guy, the richest guy, the smartest guy...

He clearly doesn't get how fucking detested he is, even by the maga crowd, and he clearly doesn't perceive just how fucking weird he is. He's a total fucking weirdo, in a creepy way.

I mean seriously, what could go wrong?
The US Marshals Service has deputized members of Elon Musk’s private security detail, giving them certain rights and protections of federal law enforcement agents, three law enforcement officials familiar with the matter told CNN.
Now that members have been deputized, they have more rights and could be authorized to carry weapons on federal grounds.
Now Trump has auxiliary police, wonderful;
The Hilfspolizei (HiPo or Hipo; meaning "auxiliary police") was a short-lived auxiliary police force in Nazi Germany in 1933
I guess if the real police refuse to shoot protestors the Auxiliary Police can step in!

Having the immigration case against SpaceX dropped by the DOJ, no doubt under direct orders:
In a Thursday court filing in Brownsville, Texas, government lawyers asked a judge to end a pause in proceedings so they could file a notice of dismissal of the case. The Justice Department said it would dismiss the case with prejudice, meaning it could not be brought again.
Notice that last bit, they made sure that it can't be restarted in the future, and yet the dropping of the case against disgraced New York Mayor Eirc Adams wasn't dismissed with prejudice so they would use it as a big stick in case he doesn't toe the line!

Stopping people from working, no really, this next idiocy is prime idiocy, what's the point of supplying someone with a credit card and putting a $1 limit on it, may as well just throw them all away because they are useless.
Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency put a $1 spending limit on most credit cards belonging to employees and contractors of the General Services Administration—a critical agency that manages IT and office buildings for the US government—along with at least three other federal agencies. Similar restrictions are expected to roll out to the entire government workforce soon, according to several sources familiar with the matter.
Note that it has been pointed out that any expenses involved in work and travel are required to be placed on these cards, employees are forbidden to use private funds except in extremely exceptional circumstances, all uses of the cards must be accompanied by itemized receipts and are checked and double checked by various departments so very little fraud can get through if any at all. However by placing a $1 limit it effectively means the card cannot be used for any business expense, and this is an IT and management agency, if the computer system breaks down and needs an IT guy he literally can't get there. Can't use the card to pay for taxi, bus or Uber, can't use his own car because the fuel he is using has been paid for by him, it just stops anything being done, then they will claim all the staff are sitting around all day doing nothing and are therefore unnecessary for the agency.

Musk's department of government efficiency is becoming profoundly Orwellian.

War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength...and...efficiency is dysfunction.

Make workers write lists of their activities, place impediments in the way of doing basic tasks, abolish key roles, defund everyone.

Efficiency is dysfunction.

Amazing
