Gee, it's nearly 40 years since I encountered Joni in the foyer of that hotel... such a generous and nice person as well as hugely gifted.

It is of course a very special day today, so to all those who celebrate the birthday of Isaac Newton, I extend my very best wishes!

...and also for any other festival or holiday you might observe. I've always enjoyed Christmas as a secular ritual. Even my pre-atheist childhood memories of the day are dominated by the non-Christian elements, and being impatient with religious observances, before the whole family abandoned them entirely.
