Except that the scientist quoted talks about research which "likely caused the Covid-19 pandemic", but I thought that was actually thought to be highly UNLIKELY. So is this a Murdoch beat-up with the usual conspiracy theory sensationalism?joele wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 7:31 pm So this is wonderful, what could possibly go wrong?
Chinese scientists are experimenting with a virus related to Covid-19 that has a 100 per cent kill streak in “humanised” mice.
The deadly SARS-CoV-2-related pangolin coronavirus— known as GX_P2V — attacked the brains of mice that were engineered to reflect similar genetic makeup to people, according to a study shared last week out of Beijing.https://www.news.com.au/technology/scie ... e07935d209Francois Balloux, an epidemiology expert at the University College London’s Genetics Institute, slammed the research as “terrible” and “scientifically totally pointless.”
“I can see nothing of vague interest that could be learned from force-infecting a weird breed of humanised mice with a random virus. Conversely, I could see how such stuff might go wrong,” the professor wrote on X.
“The preprint does not specify the biosafety level and biosafety precautions used for the research,” he continued.
“The absence of this information raises the concerning possibility that part or all of this research, like the research in Wuhan in 2016-2019 that likely caused the Covid-19 pandemic, recklessly was performed without the minimal biosafety containment and practices essential for research with a potential pandemic pathogens.”
Professor of chemistry and chemical biology at Ruger’s University Richard H. Ebright backed up Balloux’s concerns with a simple: “concur.”
Dr Gennadi Glinsky, a retired professor of medicine at Stanford, wrote: “This madness must be stopped before too late.”

Re: COVID-Related Matters
Yeah that one is interesting and I didn't miss it..
I don't know, that still seems a little bit of an open question to some degree (to some people), but certainly no smoking gun yet that should lead one to say it "was a lab leak"... There have however been previous leaks (for SARS 1) that suggests leaks can happen.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7096887/
This was also interesting in the last few days.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/other/ ... r-AA1mVaL0During his own transcribed interview, Collins agreed with Fauci’s admission that the lab-leak hypothesis is not a conspiracy theory after all, despite trying to disprove it with the March 2020 “Proximal Origin” scientific paper.
As to the previously mentioned lethal lab developed strain, I found the pre print of the research paper, does seem to be real...

Oh dear...anyway;

It's interesting to note the difference anti-vaxxers treat other anti-vaxxers who die compared to pro-vaccine advocates. "lost her battle with pneumonia"? She had Covid you fucking idiots, meanwhile a well known international pro-vaccine sports commentator dies in Australia, "The curse of the mummy, oops sorry, the vaccine strikes again!"A well-known conservative activist in Arlington, Texas, who peddled COVID-19 vaccine misinformation has died of complications caused by the virus—just a few weeks after attending a “symposium” against the shots.
The Arlington Republican Party confirmed the passing of Kelly Canon on Facebook.
“Another tragedy and loss for our Republican family. Our dear friend Kelly Canon lost her battle with pneumonia today. Kelly will be forever in our hearts as a loyal and beloved friend and Patriot. Gone way too soon We will keep her family in our prayers,” the Arlington Republican Club said in a statement.

Ah yes, news.com has all the answers;
Headlines: Covid origin revealed after bombshell probe
Actual research and study;
What do the actual experts say?
Oh yes just to point out when the title says "US lawmakers" they are talking about Republicans, like MTG and etc, you know, top brains in the country, Jewish space laser lady!

Headlines: Covid origin revealed after bombshell probe
Actual research and study;
So, a panel of Republican non-medical non-experts met 25 times and reviewed more than a million pages of documents? Does anyone actually believe they reviewed more than a million pages of actual scientific documents, or that those documents were not actually scientific papers at and mostly conspiracy theory screeds?The congressional panel was persuaded by the lab leak theory after meeting 25 times, conducting more than 30 transcribed interviews and reviewing more than one million pages of documents.
What do the actual experts say?
So most trained experts and scientists disagree with them, nuff said!US federal agencies, the World Health Organization (WHO) and scientists across the planet have arrived at different conclusions about the most likely origin of Covid-19, and no consensus has emerged.
