The Enshittifier's fancy version of Eliza, "Gronk" or whatever it be, is apparently not as great a transphobe as Space Brat himself.

Alex Jones owes $1.5 Billion

He has yet to pay a dime

One of his victims, Erica Lafferty, has to crowdfund her lymphoma treatments
Yet he has a yearly spending budget of over $1 Million
And multiple month-long trips to Hawaii yearly

And now Alex Jones is free to spread his lies on Nazi dumpster-fire X/Twitter as he has been reinstated…

On the anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting.

The upside to the jones decision is that it will facilitate another wave of people closing their accounts. He is widely despised, outside of the craziest far right types, or that's how it seems from afar.

First they came for the 'illegal' immigrants...and i did not speak out because i was not an illegal immigrant.
Then they came for...

It's curious isn't it, you change the moderation so that all the shitty people and right wing nutjobs stay and even more join and the reasonable people leave, the ones who are there for whatever reason, discussion, posting pictures of fruit etc, drive away paying advertisers by filling the site with Nazi ads, then, and only then, after everyone who would vote no have left, do you have a poll over whether or not to bring the nastiest and craziest lunatic and conspiracy theorist back on, I mean it's almost like a plan, like somebody thought it through with a title like, "How do we get Alex Jones back on to Twitter/X."

The motivation is to support whatever strange brand of fascism emerges from this mess of conspiracies and extreme capitalism. Having a successful business comes second to that goal because you can always revisit the pursuit of profit once your chosen one becomes President/Supreme Leader, and rewards you with his (almost certainly his) favour.

It seems one business didn't think through the implications of this, making a splash about supporting Xitter, and feeling the backlash.
“Happy Holidays! FabFitFun is pledging an additional $100K of X advertising in support of its free speech ideals. And to all of you looking for a perfect gift this holiday, we’re giving a free $300+ gift with your first box for new annual X users.”

The ad then instructed people to “Use code: GoFuckYourself.”

It was paired with an image that said “Saving money just feels better on X.”

I was also reminded of Spotify and Joe Rogan. They are not quite so blatant as (Alas) Skum and Jones, but they gave Rogan, what was it, $200M for his bullshit podcast, while screwing artists and paying pennies. They support the cause, to undermine a system which places any restrictions on them to exploit who they like.

Australia's federal Education Department, and Defence, are both still advertising on nazideadbirdsite.

Despite the platform’s worsening brand safety, at least two accounts run by Australian government departments continue to pay Musk’s X to promote their posts.

Crikey has seen promoted posts from the Department of Education @AusGovEducation and the Department of Defence’s @ADFCareers accounts in the last week.

Both departments were contacted for comment. A Department of Education spokesperson confirmed that the department continues to advertise on the platform. They justified this as being guided by advice from Universal McCann, a marketing agency that is responsible for the whole federal government’s brand safety monitoring.

“Through whole of government arrangements, Universal McCann has an ongoing role in monitoring adherence to brand safety requirements across social media platforms,” the spokesperson told Crikey in an email.

The Department of Defence acknowledged that it had received the request for comment but did not respond.

Universal McCann did not respond to questions as to whether it had considered X’s brand suitability in the context of Musk’s most recent acts.

In the meantime, these government ads will run between those from other prestige advertisers such as a company selling a device to steal semen from a discarded condom, and posts from convicted extremists saying they love Hitler.

I see in the article the statement;
“It’s wild and it’s over the top,” she said. “It’s such a lapse in judgement.”
No, no it wasn't, this is what they think will attract user of the platform to their services, no more or less than that. They looked at the content of X, the other advertisers and major RWE users and made that deliberate decision to craft the add to appeal to them.

It looks like twitter bankruptcy is inevitable. As a glass half full type of person, the impression I got from this article is that Musk's empire is a Jenga game, and the whole thing could come crashing down.

In a future that looks increasingly grim, the collapse of muskworld would be a moment of some pleasure and satisfaction. I wonder though whether he's too big to collapse, a bit the way Trump survived the 90s. The bankers just step in and start running things and leave Musk to roam about doing whatever - other than facing the consequences of his stupidity. Perhaps he'll take on a reality television show.

Grifters like Musk, Trump and even Alex Jones are hard to pin down. Old right wing conservatives with the stolen wealth of the world in their bank accounts seem to keep these people as pet personalities and use them as a type of shield. It's possible Musk will lose all his executive roles, but remain in the world as a roving mega rich genius type celebrity. 72 million people voted for Trump and a large proportion of those people still think Trump is some kind of genius businessman with 9 books to his credit, even though Trump is a failed businessman with four bankruptcies who can hardly read, let alone write. Musk, i fear, will fail upwards and onward, although he might be slightly de-fanged, and that would be better than nothing.

The Enshittifier takes his role of Free Speech Abolutist seriously, and will attempt to speak freely in any courtroom he can get, to make sure his speech is more free than that of those who disagree with him.
