Inspired by Carl Sagan's, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence," what do you think of my proverb below?
To prove god takes intelligence that is divine.

It's not only vague, it doesn't appear to be accurate.Adventurer wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2023 11:20 am Inspired by Carl Sagan's, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence," what do you think of my proverb below?

To prove god is not theology's job, by the way. Theology is like Dungeons 'n' Dragons rulebooks: it relies on the acceptance that a whole bunch of weird shit is there, before getting down to trying to establish how it should be worked with.Adventurer wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2023 11:20 am Inspired by Carl Sagan's, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence," what do you think of my proverb below?

I'll use the wikipedia definition, because Herself doesn't feel good, and I am not going to reach right across her to get the Shorter Oxford Dictionary out of her bookshelf.
I don't think your aphorism will get off the ground. Lots of luck with the studies.Theology is the systematic study of the nature of the divine, or more broadly of religious belief. It is taught as an academic discipline, typically in universities and seminaries.[1] It occupies itself with the unique content of analyzing the supernatural, but also deals with religious epistemology, asks and seeks to answer the question of revelation. Revelation pertains to the acceptance of God, gods, or deities, as not only transcendent or above the natural world, but also willing and able to interact with the natural world and to reveal themselves to humankind.

The job of theology is to avoid testing.

This is a tipping point - for something to be 'true', it has to withstand destruction. Can religion withstand forever - if so, then yes. Let's see...

Good point, thx!
I'll focus on essential things. Well, essays are just 'pastime' - so as long as I do not let it affect life, I am happy to do all that.
