https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0j29yy4yp3oA drone-delivery service for mail in Orkney has been suspended after a drone took a "controlled descent" into water on Monday morning.
The drone owner, Skyports Drone Services, said a remote operator deployed the in-built parachute after its system flagged a technical problem.
The drone landed in-between the islands of Hoy and Graemsay and has now sunk to the bottom of the sea.

Well, well, that's all fucked up then.
Apparently, in this day and age when my 5 centimeter dash cam can record 12 hours of full result ion video and audio, a cockpit flight recorder in one of the most modern planes in the world can only record two hours of audio before it's written over, and has no facility, unlike my dashcam, to mark and prevent from being deleted audio of an emergency situation. Maybe someone needs to bring them up to speed. Yes they have to be designed far differently from dash cams to survive things like plane crashes, but surely the internals can be updated just a little bit to give us better functions, I mean damn it, it's voice recording only. (I am not certain what other telemetry it captures but.. I mean audio?). They should be able to record audio from the entire flight at least.
