Article claims Netanyahu behind assassination of Hamas moderate, back in 2012.
After Israel assassinated Jabari, Reuven Pedatzur, a military analyst for the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, reported:
Our decision makers, including the defense minister and perhaps also Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, knew about Jabari’s role in advancing a permanent cease-fire agreement. … Thus the decision to kill Jabari shows that our decision makers decided a cease-fire would be undesirable for Israel at this time, and that attacking Hamas would be preferable.
Baskin himself told the story in a column for the New York Times. “Israel has used targeted killings, ground invasions, drones, F-16s, economic siege and political boycott,” he wrote. “The only thing it has not tried and tested is reaching an agreement (through third parties) for a long-term mutual cease-fire.”

While there had been tit-for-tat attacks, Israel’s assassination is widely seen as the proximate cause of the eight-day flare-up of violence in November 2012 — the one Clinton left Cambodia to deal with.

I don't want to continue a debate with someone not here any-more, but I wanted to explain one thing.. I am not as an atheist saying religious sites are sacred therefore you can't protest there, what I wanted to express is that jews <> Israelis <> Israeli government. Therefore protesting Australian Jews (by targeting Jews and/or a Synagogue in Australia) for the actions of the Israeli government is as bigoted as those who target muslims/mosques here for the actions of some muslims overseas.

In no way does that position imply condoning the actions of the ultra right wing authoritarian arseholes running Israel right now (let's face it Netanyahu is the Israeli Donald Trump in a number of ways).

There is enough hatred and collective punishment going on in the middle east, please don't bring that shit here to Australia (goes for every side in this mess). Protests calling for peace are one thing, but targeting said protests at religious (or ethnic) groups in Australia is not acceptable IMHO.

I think you make your point very well. Also I understood this to be your position already anyway. It IS a bad idea to hold a protest at a synagogue. If I mention the words Pittsburgh and Christchurch, it makes me think it's a terrible idea, just the mere suggestion is disturbing. Oh, and I should add Charleston to be inclusive of the "big 3", of places of worship targeted by neo-nazi mass murderers.
I can feel it

Disclaimer: I don't know who's conducting these convoys, so I have no idea of their bona fides. If this results in a lasting reduction in the ability to protest, then the people's freedom loses.

Show support for the non-combatants in Gaza?

Win accusations from the Zionists.

Be prepared for nazis and far-righters to white-ant any public activity you engage in.

Add media bias, stir.

Garnish with opportunistic crackdowns by those who are not fond of any kind of protest.

It seems others are noting the same thing.
Let me be clear again. All anti-Semitic sentiment is terrible. I do not intend to “grade” varying tiers of anti-Semitism as expressed by racist scumbags. They’re all unwelcome, no matter what vile thing they’re saying about all Jewish people.

What concerns me is rising calls to ban peaceful protest, which are shaped around a discussion based on what is, at best, a misunderstanding. Racists can be told to leave, as Fahad did in his organising capacity. But imagine if we’d heeded calls to criminalise this protest based on a fabrication!

The colonisers have not been idle, while all eyes have been on Gaza.

With the eyes of the world on Gaza we report from the occupied West Bank where the UN says a thousand Palestinians have been forced from their land by Israeli settlers since October 7th.

Sometimes their inaction is remarkable.
I understand that most people instinctively love peace and don't want trouble. This normally works out just fine, so I can understand that there might be a sort of "stunned mullet" response when a situation arises. If you are ready for it, it is easier to change tactics. So plan for it and be ready to switch modes. If those neo-Nazi turds stink out my train station, then the time has come to fight. It doesn't have to be violence, just stand up and scream at the top of your voice one centimetre from their balaclavas: "murderers, evil, scumbags. Stop them before they start killing babies. They are hate-mongers, Nazis, criminals. Police stop them, they are threatening everything! They want to kill us. They want to hurt us. I think they have guns. They are terrorists. It's a terrorist attack on this train. Everyone come together and stop them. Stop the Nazis, get them off. Keep them away. Guard the vulnerable! Nazis out! Nazis out!"
Straight up: as someone who is terrified of violence, we gotta be willing to help and support those who have the grit to crack skulls and pull out eyes. These fucks are down to kill us all and only speak in violence. On the plus side these days they tend to be cowards, when leftists fight they riots the right tends to break. I think maybe being coddled by all authorities makes them weak, so when they have to fight leftists who are hardened by police violence they just cant deal.

It's interesting to note that the fash is terrified of the fact they are not the majority. Theres a reason they have to spin bullshit about how most people secretly agree with them.

How different things could have been, but for that power-hungry, conniving, war criminal Henry Kissinger.
