Making things

Post by stylofone »

A thread to share or discuss things you have made, or might make. It doesn't matter how insignificant or magnificent it is. Making things yourself is righteous!

My new place desperately needs window coverings, so I decided to have a go at making pelmets, which according to multiple sources can greatly improve the insulating effects of curtains. Here's the first one held in place with my left hand. Next I have to paint it and get some brackets to stick it to the wall. If it's a success, repeat until all the windows are covered.

Built some for this place twenty-odd years back.

I can verify, they interrupt the convection current that takes air up the cold windows.

Relaying the best hint I've seen in a while.

I've got no clue who actually started doing that in my household, but using old toilet paper rolls to prevent cables from entangling inside the storage boxes is actually a brilliant idea! 💡#organisation #storage #cables #recycling
