My new place desperately needs window coverings, so I decided to have a go at making pelmets, which according to multiple sources can greatly improve the insulating effects of curtains. Here's the first one held in place with my left hand. Next I have to paint it and get some brackets to stick it to the wall. If it's a success, repeat until all the windows are covered.

Re: Making things
Built some for this place twenty-odd years back.
I can verify, they interrupt the convection current that takes air up the cold windows.

I've got no clue who actually started doing that in my household, but using old toilet paper rolls to prevent cables from entangling inside the storage boxes is actually a brilliant idea! #organisation #storage #cables #recycling
