Finally they announced the pi 5.. Decent little unit for AUD$100, A76 quad core at 2.4ghz, but with active cooling support I think people will be clocking them higher than that..

I recall a rumble of disapproval at the revelation that the RPi5 would include technology from Sony which had the potential for a bit of surveillance capitalism. I haven't seen it mentioned again in my admittedly shallow skimming of tech news. I hope this means RPi remains, how you say, unenshittified. I love these little gadgets.

Yeah the Sony Aitrios AI platform. I think that is going to be an add-on rather than Sony silicon on the regular pi.. This unit definitely is still running a broadcom chipset for what that is worth.
