I have to start one, but i hope it will mirror his presidential campaign and fizzle into nothing. He is a fascist. He is more dangerous than Trump.

I think that is one of the only positives of Trump running again, I am honestly more afraid of DeSantis coming to power than Trump.. Trump is a reactionary idiot and will be a sideshow that likely frustrates the crap out of us, but DeSantis truly scares me as he would be more 'effective'.

He's a clear second to Trump in polling. A long way behind though. I'm scared Trump will die suddenly and Desantis will inherit the nomination. Either that or Trump's will be prevented from running via some legal ruling, which would really be disastrous.

There's also a strangely high number of people who don't follow politics in the US who may be inclined to vote for DeSantis because he's young and new and handsome and he's got a photogenic wife and family. He's almost Kennedy like, until he opens his mouth.

If the US were ever going to embrace a fascist posture, DeSantis is the spear tip at the moment, waiting in the wings. Very concerning for Americans, i'm sure.

There's quite a few WTFs in this. Firstly, Nazi Ron's argument seems to be primarily based on big pharma.

“Pharma will make more money if this thing is approved and they start pushing it on everybody,” said DeSantis, touting Florida’s “freedom” from vaccine mandates.

Ahem...big Pharma making money from vaccines is actually a political decision. If Nazi Ron's was really concerned about big pharma profiteering he might subsidize the vaccine, for the benefit of Floridians and thus instantly remove his big concern.

Then they tangle up the freedom genie by invoking personal freedom and bodily autonomy to choose not to vaccinate, in a state where abortion is illegal after...6 weeks and trans people can't access medical care at all!

And where did Nazi Ron find Dr. Joseph Ladapo? He's the Florida State surgeon general with a history of manipulating data on vaccines and refusing to wear a mask.

I don't know, DeSantis can really pack a punch when it comes to monumental stupidity, he really is a threat to Trump.

This thread's been quiet for a while, lets pep it up a bit.

Ron Desantis has stated that once he is President he will authorise troops to kill border crossers who are wearing backpacks. No, not ones found with drugs in backpacks, or guns, or anything illegal, but just for wearing backpacks. He has said it live on TV they will just murder people wearing backpacks, one of the most common pieces of luggage for people traveling long distances on foot, I mean who is going to drag a 4 wheeled suitcase through dirt, mud, jungle, on the top of trains, no you wear a backpack, so this is probably a large proportion of people crossing the border. Yes they will shoot them dead!

Fortunately it won't happen because he will never get the Presidency....but it's a reflection of Donald Trump's statement that police will just shoot shoplifters as the leave the shop. But he's just gone further to try and out Trump Trump, because what De Santis has said is the equivalent of Trump saying, police will just shoot everyone leaving a shop in case they are shoplifters. That'll sure help sales!
