Re: Aus Election 2025

It's a curious development. For the libs to form a majority government they'll need 76 - not including the certain 9 seats the nationals win every election. So that's not likely but they might win 67 seats, one day, and the 9 nationals will join them in a minority government.

It's actually a ...

Re: Joe Biden

Yeah it really highlights the incompetence of Dem decision makers. Not that they could have predicted this cancer diagnosis but they surely must have witnessed his cognitive decline and yet they still decided he'd be fine for the next 4 years, honestly wtf. It's just completely disrespectful to the ...

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/may/16/house-republicans-block-trump-spending-bill

Re: Donald Trump

So apparently after all that the only thing that we know about the talks in Switzerland is that the US has agreed to reduce its tariffs on Chinese incoming goods to 30% and China has reduced its tariffs on US goods to 10%, essentially the US has caved and achieved nothing, and keep in mind even if ...

Trump administration ‘actively looking at’ suspending habeas corpus, Stephen Miller says

In response to a question from a blogger for the far-right Gateway Pundit about when the Trump administration could start “suspending the writ of habeas corpus to take care of the illegal immigration problem ...

Yes it's that insane woman from the Fox news panel, the one that seems to know nothing about the legal system in the US actually works.
Sounds like she'll fit right in.

I think Trump pardoned her tax evading husband at the end of his first term?

Got a nice close up of an Aussie Ibis this morning. They don't raid bins in Victoria, or at least it's very rare. Not their culture here. They just hang out anywhere near water. I think they have a real beauty.

India Pakistan

This of course has the potential to surpass Gaza and Ukraine combined. Neither Pakistan nor India under Modi are entirely hinged to the anchor of sensible. So what's the plan here? India turns Pakistan's side of ...

Re: Aus Election 2025

Depending on who they elect as leader, and how they perform in the senate, they have a strong chance of attracting ALP voters who will inevitably be disappointed by labor's environment and climate change policies over the next term. Climate change is not going away. It will get worse and its ...

Re: Aus Election 2025

Greens are gone, all of them, it's now 89-40 in favour of Labor, that's a party wrecking result.

Maybe, but not necessarily. They'll still have 11 senators, holding the balance of power. They narrowly lost their lower house seats, were close to picking up a couple of new ones. Their vote ...
