Re: Donald Trump

There's about 18 weeks until the election and it's starting to feel like a slow walk to the gallows. But before that, we have the macabre spectacle of the debates to endure. They will be something to behold. Or maybe not, there's talk in the right wing that Trump should not do the debates, there ar...

Re: Donald Trump

I'm largely ignoring polls but you just know that if maga lose the election they'll of course claim it was stolen and then point at all the polls that put Trump miles in front as some kind of proof. It's just all so fucking stooopid. I'll invoke that great quote i read about the maga movement, 'righ...

Re: Renting

SNIP... The whole article reeks of horrible people complaining they are being made to treat other human beings with a modicum of human decency. Well, it is contrary to the ethos of neoliberal capitalism. Personally, my care factor for property investors is actually zero. They're parasites, is all. ...

Re: Movies

Sasquatch Sunset. One of the strangest movies i've seen, beautiful, sad, grotesque and hilarious. No dialogue but a compelling narrative. This movie is very difficult to explain, it's best just to watch it.

Re: Forum Goal?

I'm far more interested in the political than the religious, or non-religious, as the case may be. Personally, i'd rather hang out in RL with a religious person whose politics were progressive and compassionate than an atheist that voted for Trump (by way of example). Off topic perhaps, but i do occ...

Re: Climate Change

Dutton's at it again, apparently he thinks there are enough global warming skeptic/deniers to get him elected; ...SNIP Indeed, and the waste storage will almost certainly be in a rural area, that is, a National party electorate. That might not go down all that well with NIMBY Nat voters, and actual...

Re: Movies

I thought "Civil War" was good. It's definitely not obvious in its approach, and it goes out of its way NOT to mirror current political divisions. Also, reality is actually more weird and dystopian than fiction at the moment, so it's hard to make a film like this. But I liked it. I watche...

Re: Donald Trump

I must admit, i'm surprised he was found guilty, but great. I read that legal opinion appears to be that he won't get jail time for a host of reasons, but a fine and even community service are likely and of course he'll appeal. So perhaps nothing much will happen before the election but you'd think ...

And then chuck in water shortages? At the bottom of linked report is: At the SMS hospital in Rajasthan’s capit...
